Optillusion Fx Palette

Optillusion FX is one of our four new SFX colour palettes now available! The palettes are available separately or can be purchased together as a full FX Library.

Optillusion FX is made up of 12 pressed pigment, powder colours, in selected warm, cool and neutral and bright tones. These powder based colour pigments are perfect for creating depth and dimension to your 3D Looks, dry brushing gradient colour on your edges and adding shade, highlight and draping to your makeup looks where you want a soft ombre edge.

Each colour tile in the Optillusions FX palette is in a removable, magnetic pan making replacing your most popular colours easy, with our custom refills. This means you’ll save money and the environment by not needing to replace the whole palette overtime when you ‘hit pan’ on your favourite or most used colours. All of the refill tiles are also interchangeable with all the the other FX palettes, meaning you can create your own custom palette to make your makeup application more streamlined and personalised.

Pro-tip: When using the neutral tones to create depth, try and identify the cool or warm undertones in the skin, to make for a more realistic illusion. Start by applying the pigment at full opacity and blend out into a more transparent coverage to create 3D dimension.
To apply, using a dry brush, sponge or Global Colours Smoothie Blender, gently pick up pigment from palette and blend, stipple or smudge product onto areas of the face or body to bring added dimension to your makeup and bodypainting looks.
Optillusions is easy to remove with oil based makeup remover, makeup wipes or soap and warm water.

Optillusion FX will grab to the skin without any product underneath, however during my swatching process I used our ‘Cover FX’ cream palette simply to help cover my tattoos to make the colours shades easier to see, and I found that the result was very vibrant and also really ‘stuck’ onto the skin. I would suggest that if you want to add extra longevity to your Optillusion looks, you should try using them in conduction with either out ‘Cream FX’ or Cover FX’. The Optillusions palette has also been designed to work perfectly over the top of any of our 32 gram Body art cakes with a dry brush for beautiful blended gradients.

Each FX palette within the range also has a mixing grid built in to make mixing your bespoke colours easy, and it helps keep your creative process tidy.
