Soft Colour for Blending and Shading

Global Colours Blending Makeups use a soft, glycerine-based cake formula. The creamy texture gives artists time to move, buff and soften the colour before it dries. Use the range for smooth bases, gentle washes, shadows, highlights and seamless gradients. It works well for face painting, body art, theatre, cosplay and detailed character makeup. The flexible finish feels comfortable on the skin and supports both bold and subtle effects.

How Blending Makeup Differs from Precision Cake Paint

Choose Blending Makeup when you want soft edges and gradual colour transitions. The formula lets you blend one shade into another or fade the colour into the skin. Choose Precision Cake Paint when you need crisp lines, bold blocks of colour and sharp details. Its firmer formula gives artists greater control over defined shapes and outlines. Many artists use both ranges in one design. Start with Blending Makeup for the base, shading and highlights. Add Precision colours for linework and final details.

Explore Classic, Tonal and Metallic Colours

The range includes bright colours, soft pastels, earth tones, neutrals and metallic shades. Colours such as white, black, red and gold support classic face-painting and theatrical designs. Pale pink, pistachio, periwinkle blue and pale grey suit softer fantasy, character and highlight effects. Olive green, sea green, light brown and deep orange add useful tonal choices for shading, creatures and natural designs. Metallic gold, silver, bronze and copper create reflective highlights and decorative details. Use the filters above to browse the full 32g range.

Activate and Apply the Colour

Add a small amount of clean water or suitable sealer to the cake. Work the surface until the paint reaches a smooth, creamy consistency. Apply it with a sponge, blending tool, dry brush or suitable makeup brush. Use a buffing motion when you want an even base across a larger area. The formula remains workable for a short period. This gives you time to soften edges, adjust the placement and blend colours together. Start with a small amount of water. Add more only when the paint needs it.

Create Bases, Gradients and Dry-Brush Effects

Blending Makeups suit a broad range of techniques:
  • smooth face and body bases;
  • soft shadows and highlights;
  • seamless colour gradients;
  • dry-brush effects;
  • gentle transparent washes;
  • ageing and character makeup;
  • fantasy and creature designs;
  • theatrical contouring;
  • bruising and dimensional effects;
  • blended backgrounds beneath detailed linework.
You can also use the colour dry. Pick up a small amount with a dry brush to create a soft, smoky or transparent effect.

Remove the Makeup After Use

Remove the colour with warm water and soap, makeup remover or suitable makeup wipes. Work gently across the skin. Repeat the process if layered or darker colour remains. Clean brushes, sponges and blending tools after each use. Follow the care instructions supplied with each applicator.
