Choose the Right FX Makeup Palette

Global Colours offers four specialist colour systems for professional makeup artists, performers, students and creative enthusiasts. Each palette supports a different part of the Special FX process. Choose Coverup FX for camouflage and skin-tone matching. Use Cream FX for wounds, bruises and character colour. Select Ink FX for durable casualty details. Choose Optillusions FX for shading, highlights and dimensional effects. The complete FX Library combines all four systems in one 48-colour collection.

Coverup FX for Camouflage and Skin Matching

The Coverup FX Palette contains 12 highly pigmented cream colours. The selection includes varied skin tones and corrective undertones. Use the colours to conceal tattoos, bruises, birthmarks and areas of discolouration. You can also match prosthetic pieces to the surrounding skin and soften visible edges. Apply the colour with a brush, sponge, spatula or suitable blending tool. Build coverage gradually and blend the edges into the surrounding area.

Cream FX for Casualty and Character Makeup

The Cream FX Palette contains 12 trauma tones and primary colours. Its rich, blendable formula supports wounds, veins, bruises, burns and fantasy designs. Blend, stipple, layer or paint the colours onto the face or body. You can also decant a small amount onto a clean mixing surface before application. Use the palette by itself or combine it with Coverup FX. The two cream systems share interchangeable magnetic pans, which lets artists create a personalised working layout.

Ink FX for Long-Lasting Casualty Details

The Ink FX Palette contains 12 alcohol-activated colours. The selection combines primary shades with specialised blood, bruising and trauma tones. Use Ink FX for realistic cuts, burns, veins, wounds and detailed casualty effects. The formula creates durable, water-resistant colour for demanding film, theatre and performance work. Activate the product with Global Colours Pure Isopropyl Alcohol or suitable 99% alcohol. Apply it with a brush, sponge or mascara wand and follow the product directions carefully. Ink FX currently contains shellac, so do not describe this palette or the full FX Library as completely vegan.

Optillusions FX for Shading and Dimension

The Optillusions FX Palette contains 12 pressed-powder pigments. The colours include highlights, shadows, neutrals, brights, black and white. Use the palette to add depth, soften edges and create realistic three-dimensional illusions. It also supports contouring, body art, theatrical makeup and fantasy designs. Apply the colour with a brush, sponge or blending tool. Identify the warm or cool undertones in the surrounding skin when you want a more natural result.

Choose the Complete 48-Colour FX Library

The FX Library contains all four 12-colour palettes. Together, they provide cream colours, camouflage shades, alcohol-activated inks and pressed-powder pigments. Choose the full collection when you need a broad professional system for coverup, prosthetics, casualty simulation, character makeup and illusion work. All four palettes use compatible magnetic pans. You can rearrange the colours across the cases and organise them around your preferred working process.

Replace Individual Colours with Magnetic Refills

Individual refill pans let you replace the shades you use most often without purchasing another complete palette. The current category includes Coverup, Cream, Ink and Optillusions refills. Each refill belongs to its matching formula, but the magnetic pan format lets you customise the arrangement inside compatible palette cases. Check the product title and description before ordering. Similar colour names may appear in more than one FX system and use different formulations or application methods.

Apply and Remove Each Formula Correctly

Coverup and Cream FX colours work with brushes, sponges, spatulas and suitable blending tools. Oil-based makeup remover or makeup wipes provide the recommended removal method. Optillusions pressed powders work with brushes, sponges and blending tools. Remove them with makeup remover, wipes or warm water and soap. Ink FX requires suitable alcohol for activation. Follow its specific application, ventilation, storage and removal directions rather than treating it like a water-based or cream product. Always review the instructions and ingredients on the individual palette or refill page before use.
