How to Load a One Stroke Brush

Use a damp flat brush that suits the width of the design. Move the brush back and forth across the cake, parallel with the colour stripes. Continue loading until each section of the brush holds a smooth and even amount of paint. A one-inch flat brush can load the full width of the cake. Use a three-quarter, half or quarter-inch brush when you want to select fewer colours or create smaller designs. Avoid adding too much water. Start with a damp brush and add more moisture only when needed.

Once you have loaded the brush, move it across the skin so all colours flow from the bristles together. Change the pressure, angle and movement of the brush to create different shapes:
